Tomaree Head Lookout
Follow the Shoal Bay road passed the shops all the way to the end where there is plenty of car park opportunities.
The summit of Tomaree Head is 161m above the Port Stephens entrance. As you hike the track, you’ll enjoy unparalleled views of idyllic Port Stephens and its coastline.
When you reach the summit, enjoy panoramic views of Yacaaba Head, Cabbage Tree, Boondelbah and Broughton Islands from the north platform. From the south platform, views of Zenith, Wreck and Box Beaches, Fingal Island and Point Stephens Lighthouse will be sure to impress. Be sure to check out the historic World War II gun emplacements.

Gan Gan Lookout
At a height of 160 meters, Gan Gan Hill is Port Stephens’ highest and most accessible lookout. Experience commanding views of the whole of Port Stephens, right through to Newcastle in the south and the Myall Lakes to the north.
The panorama is breathtaking, especially at dusk. It is possible to look south to the opposite side of the peninsula, south-west down to the stacks of Newcastle and the cargo vessels in its harbour, west to the mountain boundary, north-west over Soldiers Point, spanning eastwards over Hawks Nest, the two gigantic headlands that loom over the Port’s entrance, Nelson Head and Nelson Bay.

Tobbogan Hill park
Toboggan Hill Park is set amongst natural bush just off Salamander Way at Nelson Bay.
Tobogganing is suitable for all the family as each toboggan is equipped with brakes so that you control the speed of descent, slow to thrilling!
